ETS Offices Closed in Observance of Independence Day
In observance of Independence Day, ETS offices will close at 1 p.m. (Central time) on Thursday, July 2, and will be closed all day on Friday, July 3. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, July 6.
Registration for the New LOTE - French, German and Spanish Tests
The first testing window for the new LOTE - French, German and Spanish tests is Monday, October 19 through Thursday, October 22 and Monday, October 26 through Friday, October 30. Registration for this testing window will open on August 3 and will remain open until September 18, 2009. The test will be offered only at designated test centers. Test centers offering the LOTE tests will not necessarily test on all days during the testing window. Educators who will be taking the LOTE tests are encouraged to practice using the appropriate Alternate Character Toolbar by accessing the tutorial.
TExES Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) Supplemental Guide
The Supplemental Guide for the TExES Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) is now available for download. This guide provides a preview of the actual screens used in the computerized tasks encountered in the test.
Registration for October Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT)
The next testing window for BTLPT - Spanish is Monday, October 19 through Thursday, October 22 and Monday, October 26 through Friday, October 30. 2009-10 Paper-Based Testing Schedule
The 2009-10 schedule for paper-based testing is now available.
Next Administration Window for the Master Technology Teacher (MTT) Test
The MTT test is offered at specially equipped computer-administered test (CAT) centers during two-week administration windows at various times throughout the year. To secure registrations for their preferred test dates and test centers, candidates wishing to take the MTT test are encouraged to register well in advance. The next MTT administration window is: Monday, June 22 through Saturday, July 4.
Dates for the administration window in October 2009 will be announced at a later time.
Score Reporting Date for EC-6 Tests
SBEC will not set the standards for the paper-based Generalist EC-6 (191) and Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities EC-6 (194) tests until the August 7 Board meeting. Because of this, EC-6 test scores from the June 27 administrations will not be reported until August 17, 2009.
Pre-Admission Content Tests (PACT)
Significant changes to Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §227.10 (a)(3)(C) were approved by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) on October 10, 2008. The new rule allows degreed individuals who have not been formally admitted into an Educator Preparation Program (EPP) to take Pre-Admission Content Tests (PACT) to demonstrate content proficiency for possible admission into an EPP. Retaking a CAT Test
Test takers who want to retake a CAT test must wait 60 days before they can retake the same test via computer. If they reregister before 60 days, the registration system will only display test dates 60 days or more after the previous CAT test date.
ETS Computer-Administered Testing (CAT) System Maintenance
System maintenance is performed on the ETS Computer-Administered Testing (CAT) System each Sunday from approximately 10:00 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m. (Central time). During this time, you will NOT be able to register, reschedule or cancel any CAT exams. If you encounter any problems, please try again later.
SBEC/TEA Online Maintenance
System maintenance is performed on the SBEC/TEA online system each Sunday from 8:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. central time. The SBEC/TEA system may be temporarily unavailable during this time. This may affect your ability to register for a test and/or view your profile. If you encounter any problems, please try again later.
Important Message About Creating Your ETS Testing Account
The information you provide when creating your ETS testing account MUST match the information in your SBEC Educator Profile. Your TEA ID number (or Testing ID number), first name, last name, and date of birth must match what is in your SBEC Educator Profile. If it does not, you will receive an error message. If you receive an error message when you create your ETS testing account, please recheck your entries or check the information in your SBEC Educator Profile.

Activity at University of Texas - Arlington on August 29 Test Day
Activities on August 29, 2009, at the University of Texas-Arlington will result in limited parking on that day. It would be advisable for candidates to allow adequate time to arrive early prior to the start time. If you arrive late, you may not be admitted to test and you will forfeit your test fee. Candidates registered for TExES/TExMaT testing on 8/29/09 should report to the following:

Test Center Reporting Time Policy
You must report to the test center 30 minutes before the start time listed on your admission ticket. If you arrive late, you will not be admitted and your test fee will be forfeited. It is your responsibility to allow plenty of time to arrive by the designated time, regardless of whether there is traffic congestion, road construction, bad weather, car accidents, poor directions, or any other incident that might delay arrival.

If you have comments about the test center or the conditions under which you took a test, please submit them in writing to ETS. See contact information below. Complaints for paper-based test centers must be received no later than 7 days after your test date. Complaints for CAT tests must be received no later than 2 days after your test date.
